Mitzi Treske, DVM

A graduate of Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine , Mitzi relocated with her family to the Charlotte area in 1996. After having practiced veterinary medicine in Seattle, she was interested in pursuing her interest in horses and medicine while raising her young family. She and her husband Mike purchased Providence Equestrian Center in the spring of 1998. They continues to pursue their goals of creating a quality riding academy and show program. Their daughter Suzanna is an active participant on the Providence Show Team. Mitzi is a member of the Mecklenburg Hounds Hunt Club.
Tanya Strickland
Instructor/Trainer
Tanya Strickland moved to the Carolina's from Florida with over 25 years of riding experience. She started her career at Pacific Horse Center in Sacramento, California. Riders at this facility were immersed in every aspect of riding, horsemanship, and horse showing. Tanya gained experience as a junior, riding hunters and jumpers with Julie Winkle in Nevada on the A show circuit. For those of you unfamiliar with Ms. Winkle, she is the renowned Judge and Writer of the "Conformation Clinic in Practical Horseman". Tanya's career continued in Atlanta, Ga where she worked in a tack store fitting equipment and managing horse farms as well as riding and showing. Tanya also rode and trained for 8 years as an Amateur on the A circuit with Thom Pollard at Cane Creek Farm in Asheville, NC. Thom is a well respected large R Judge and Trainer in the Carolina's. In addition to her own riding experience, Tanya also brings to the table years of experience in owning, managing, and or operating horse farms. She also worked for Veterinarian's she has rehabilitated injured and sick horses. And most importantly she has had years of experience instructing and training students as she has attended to their riding and training needs.
